Not all foam is family-friendly. Some play couches can come with foam loaded with toxic chemicals, like flame retardants, phthalates, and formaldehyde. Figgy uses CertiPUR-US® foam manufactured right here in the USA and free from mercury, lead, phthalates, and formaldehyde. Did you know? CertiPUR-US foam is the highest-standard on the market.
What kind of dye or chemicals are used in the fabric?
You want to ensure your little one doesn’t come in contact with toxic dyes, which can be harmful in your home and to sensitive skin. A lot of synthetic textile dyes, like the notorious azo dyes, are carcinogenic! In fact several countries in the EU have banned them, but they can still make their way into products shipped from overseas.
That’s why Figgy only uses non-toxic fabrics, and we are happy to share that all of them are OEKO-TEX® certified! Having this label ensures the textiles were tested for harmful substances. Does the company conduct third party testing or certifications?

About The Figgy Play Couch
Figgy’s CEO and co-creator, Rachel Neill, first thought of the Figgy Play Couch during the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many of us, Rachel was stuck inside with kids who were just dying to get out and play. While she was working from home, she was also struggling to keep her six kids entertained. Rachel got to work and came up with the Figgy play couch! By using Kickstarter to start fundraising, the initial goal for funding was met just minutes after launching. As a brand made for kids, by parents, customers came flooding in and have built the Figgy from the ground up.
